Speech Umlangeni Drops First House Mix

Swazi born dj Speech Umlangeni drops his first house music mix titled "KOLO".

Having started djing in year 2007, Mcebo Dlamini aka Speech Umlangeni has built his name across the beautiful Kingdom of Swaziland and parts of South Africa dishing out great beats pulling house heads onto the dancefloors.

As we get closer to the festive season, he decided to record his first mix lasting a whole hour and 30 minutes. The #KOLOmix is all about reintroducing himself in the house scene blending several genres of house, from Afro-deep to Techno house as well as a touch of musical-soulful-spiritual sounds adding to that dance feel of the mix.

The track selection includes amazing work by house producers from across the world including Stimming, Ralf Gum, Rocco, Abicah Soul, &ME, Osunlade, Atjazz, Liquid People, Dj Kemit, Black Coffee, Dj Fresh, Dj Shimza, Black Motion, Sobz, Infected Soul, Speech Umlangeni, Echo12Inch, Dj Fortee, Ziyawa kaZitha plus musicians like the legendary Hugh Masekela, Zano, Toshi, NiNi, Monique Bingham, Denny Dugg, Kora Calendar, Lady Zamar, Xolisa and Paras Dlamini.

He goes on saying that he was never gonna record a mix since most djs have been flooding his Facebook timeline... Dlamini felt like recording and releasing mixes has been overdone throughout the previous years.

"I've always believed in a culture where you just have to "watch what everybody is doing and don't have to do what everybody is doing", so yeah since there is a first time for everything, I have decided to record my first mix in 9 years. The mix is somewhat a reintroduction of myself and a summary of the genres of house music I play in gigs I'm booked at. I have blended tracks by house music producers from around the globe including myself" - Speech Umlangeni expresses himself.

Stories aside, we hope you enjoy the mix as much as we play it every day in the office. Play it in your car, mobile phone, laptop and everything that supports music in mp3 format. Here is the link below, stream and download the mix, feel free to share it with your whole community.

FARAI FOUNDATION Partners with UMNOVU CONCEPTS for “Walk with Me Charity Day & VIP After Party”.

FARAI FOUNDAION

As a non-profit organization, Farai Foundation is the charity wing for Gridbow Engineers, a company that specializes in the creation of turnkey solutions for the electricity industry. Farai Foundation seeks to make the insignificant children in our communities feel relevant and important through mentoring and offering financial assistance to create tomorrow’s leaders today.

The Foundation also uses its partners and friends to assist in these causes. Farai Foundation gives hope for a brighter future where education is the answer.

To date, Farai Foundation has worked on a number of successful projects across the Southern hemisphere of Africa which include, constructing a Basketball Court for Thornhill High School in Zimbabwe and donating primary school jerseys worth E20, 000.00 which were distributed by Swazi Jive as part of The Hipnotik Youth Festival’s Corporate Social Initiative this year.

Swaziland being a preferred destination for both business and leisure purposes has played catalyst in the Foundation’s founder, Farai Chabata to discover the unfortunate livelihood of citizens residing in outskirts of our capital city, Msunduza Township to be exact.

WALK WITH ME CHARITY DAY

On the 22nd November, 2013, Farai Foundation will host its first annual “Walk with Me Charity Day” at Msunduza Primary School in Mbabane, Swaziland.

Msunduza Primary & Pre School is a poor School with a majority of its attendees being under privileged children who reside within the township of Msunduza. The township has grown because of people flocking to the capital, and as employment is hard to find, people there live their lives in rural fashion.

It is these circumstances and most recently the heart breaking story of one of the school children committing suicide due to lack of school shoes that have propelled Farai Foundation to host the first annual “Walk With Me Charity Day” at Msunduza Primary & Pre School. The whole idea is to say: IF WE DON’T WALK the journey of life with the Orphaned and underprivileged, WHO WILL?

The event will start at 10am till 3pm. On this day, you’re invited to spend your afternoon with the children at Msunduza Primary & Pre School. Through conversation and action, let’s instil the principle of quantifying life by the impact we make on other peoples’ lives rather than our materialistic possessions. The reason why our youth today aspires to owning and showing off materialistic possessions is because those that are considered to be successful in our societies conform to the very same culture. Through “Walk with Me Charity Day” we are cultivating an alternative from the materialistic possession culture.

Farai Foundation’s pledge towards this initiative exceeds E30, 000.00 and will be officially handing over to the school, furniture worth E10, 000.00 and with the help of sponsors and or partners; we’ll do some painting, cleaning, present sports kits and hopefully launch the extension of the school’s office and teachers’ staff room.

Companies, NGOs, Public entities and the public at large are invited to join us on this day and donate anything and everything that can make a difference even in one child’s life. It can be a pair of socks, sanitary pads, books or even time to help out with light work around the school’s premises. We would love people to attend the event so that they see the impact of their gesture to these kids.

WALK WITH ME VIP AFTER PARTY

Farai Foundation will be hosting a VIP AFTER PARTY at Happy Valley Casino Hotel. Access to the VIP AFTER PARTY will only be granted to “Walk with Me Charity Day” Sponsors, Guests and everyone who will join us at Msunduza Primary & Pre School.

DJ T-Deep from Glen Lewis’ Prime Time Show on Metro FM who is also signed under DJ Christos’ Katsaitis Music will serve chilled vibes for our guests. We are yet to confirm local artists / DJs.

This environment will be ideal for speeches and presentations from our invited guests, networking between those that have made it and those that are making it, networking between those that are making it and those that want to. We are breaking the barrier between social classes and hopefully level the economic playground between the youth and our economy’s decision makers.

5 WAYS HOW BRANDS CAN BENEFIT FROM USING THE HASHTAG

A few months ago, Facebook announced they were going to begin supporting hashtags, joining the ranks of Twitter, Google+ , Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and other social media networks. Social Media lingo defines hashtags as keywords or phrases with the prefix “#” in front of them (i.e. Thank you for Liking #uMnoVuConcepts). Sometimes words are mashed together, sometimes they’re independent. The hashtag essentially works as a filter — a way to see all responses that have included that specific word or phrase.

A new survey from ad platform RadiumOne found that 58 percent of respondents utilize hashtags on a regular basis, and 71 percent of regular hashtag users do so from their mobile devices. As the humble hashtag has become more ubiquitous brands have found more creative ways to use them and here are five ways how your brand can benefit from using the hashtag.

Move up http://i.forbesimg.com t#Promotions

This little symbol levels the playing field between SMEs and big business with humongous marketing budgets, since the barrier to launching and driving a campaign is simply your imagination. Hashtags also make it easy to track a promotion’s activity across all social platforms. For an example, we (uMnoVu Concepts) are currently promoting Tiyas’ song titled #MyKryptonite. Those of you whom grew up watching the comic character “Superman” are familiar with the word “Kryptonite”, those of you whom don’t know what it is; a Kryptonite is a crystal stone which possesses the ultimate weakening effect over superman. Tiyas borrowed the same concept by writing a song for the Lady in his life, in which he expresses that his Lady has the same power over him just as a Kryptonite has over Superman. Now, hashtagging the song’s title (#MyKryptonite) gives us the leverage of connecting people that know of Superman’s Kryptonite with our Tiyas’ song and at the same time connect consumers of our his music with the conversations on Superman’s Kryptonite. Secondly, we are able to track consumers opinion on the concept of the song plus the production of the song.

If my point above has made you grow an interest of the song, please feel free to download it here.

#Unification
Since all of the major social networks are now supporting hashtags new tools like Tagboard are cropping up, which allow you to track a hashtag across all the major networks or filter them individually. How nice that you can promote your #NewProduct and engage with customers across all platforms without having to create special landing pages or campaign for each. Since the hashtag can be your own brand or product, you can very easily filter out the noise of the masses.

#Conversation

Of course, sometimes you want to see what the masses are saying. According to the RadiumOne survey, 43 percent of respondents think hashtags are useful and 34% use them to search/follow categories and brands of personal interest. Giving your customer your website URL doesn’t make it easy to begin a conversation, but hashtags do.

#Targeting

New marketing tools allow you to advertise based on hashtags. Twitter obviously lets you target ads on their network by category or interest, but so do other marketing firms. Unlike going after a general web surfer on the open web, people who use hashtags are likely those who are engaging in the social conversation and therefore more likely to share a positive experience with your brand once you’ve broken through.

#Innovation

It’s important to remember that the uses of hashtags are still in their infancy. Because they’re so flexible, simple and ubiquitous, more brands are finding creative ways to add power behind the hashtag. Now that hashtags have joined the billion-user Facebook platform, expect to see even more innovation around the hashtag before the year is over.

INTRODUCING GOOGLE SCHOLAR TO SWAZI ACADEMICS

Here is a piece of information we think will be of great contribution to academics who turn to Google as their first and only research centre.

Google has addressed the need for Academics to distinguish reliable internet sources from unreliable ones, and to avoid referencing material that is capable of changing daily, unlike books.

Google has since introduced Google Scholar, a feature that covers all subject areas that are variable and verified. Google Scholar enables you to search specifically for academic literature, including peer-reviewed papers, books, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from all broad areas of research. Google Scholar also finds articles from a wide variety of academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories and universities, as well as scholarly articles available across the web.

To access this facility, please visit http://scholar.google.com

S/O to M.J!!! He taught us how to moon walk and since then the sky hasn't been the limit.

Ladies and Gentlemen, you are officially welcomed to our playground, where the scoreboard keeps the number of dreams we have turned into a reality. At this point you have asked yourself this question; What is this "uMnoVu"? "uMnoVu" is an abbreviation for "uMcebo noVuyo" loosely decoded as "Wealth and Happiness". We, at uMnoVu Concepts are sold to the belief that; on our earthly quest for self-discovery and positive exploitation of our potential, Wealth and Happiness are the two things that quantify success.

God Walk With Us...
